I made some Freemans cocktails this weekend and while they were decent the experience didn’t change my life the way I had hoped it would. Flaming an orange twist was fun and the concoction did make putting back Jim Beam Rye a lot easier, but finding some pickled garlic was the most memorable part of the endeavor. After first having some garlic pickled with banana peppers over the Thanksgiving holiday I found myself craving it but not being able to locate any at multiple stores. The Freemans recipe sent me to a middle eastern grocery store to get pomegranate molasses where I let out a gasp when I saw the aforementioned questionable delicacy on the shelf.
