For the life of me I can't remember how this 2007 flick got into my queue, but I found its self aware and original take on the
presumably vapid topic of nightlife hysterical. Few scripts have the dexterity needed to call their target audience "freaks"
and remain entertaining. Even most documentaries can't fulfill Fox New's pledge as well as this movie. "The Guide" does
have its weak moments, but it's less taxing and a lot more fun than many of the nights I've spent out and about.
