This RollingStone.com/freelance music writer makes a lot of well thought out points in his tirade. I think he might be right about the new Broken Social Scene single, and that the current set-up doesn't function well with lowest common denominator indie-fan dweebs (the music equivalent to people who think The Dark Knight got an Oscar snub) at the helm. But forget the Hype Machine/Pitchfork wheel, what mechanism does function well when the gears are dull? I bristle when Weingarten's or any pro critiquer issues concerns that the writing equivalent of Manhattan, that they've toiled so long to get to isn't as popular or influential as a lesser borough where they may or may not have cut their teeth. I could go on, but that time would probably be better spent re-digesting Chris's points, save the last one.
It's also interesting that he chose to wear an "I am Carls" tee. Also, sorry for the auto-play.
