I'm pretty hyped about Epictetus even though my knowledge of him is limited to this podcast. Ctrl-F "The Enchiridion" after you click on the link to get the Epictetus episode. As a neophyte Stoic I am considering this book. It was coincidentally recommended by "Left, Right, and Center" only days after listened to "The Enchiridion".
I'm not sure whether being a Stoic means admitting that you got owned and then deciding to be cool with it, or freeing yourself from the anxiety of getting owned in order to dominate. If I cut back on my hipsterrunoff trafficking I should be able to finish up disc two of my last foray into deeper territory and then resolve the Stoicism question.
