Strong Buy: Downloadable Audiobooks

Yes, the hundreds of five star reviews on Amazon and a Pulitzer have already gotten the point across, but I just finished audiobooking these two and feel compelled to give them a Strong Buy.  “Guns, Germs, and Steel” satisfyingly answers the monstrous question of how whitey got into the driver’s seat and “Outliers” may be my favorite non-fiction book ever.  No “The Da Vinci Code” is not my all-time favorite in fiction, good one though I get it, everybody loves Gladwell

I’ve waxed rhapsodic about listening to audiobooks on long drives since college, but over the past year I’ve become a rabid advocate of loading up the ipod and cramming them into everyday downtime, e.g.; cooking, cleaning, commuting.  I may never read a non-fiction title that is available and comprehensible via audiobook again.  Audible has a great freebie offer and if you cancel your subscription they’ll lure you back with even better deals. Over the past year I’ve earbudded through the following:

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell 10/10
Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond 9/10
The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb 9/10
The Revolution by Ron Paul 9/10
The 4-Hour work Week by Timothy Ferris 7/10
Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer 7/10
Blink by Malcolm Gladwell 7/10
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell 7/10
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn 7/10
A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson 6/10

Current
The Wisdom of Crowds by James Surowiecki 6/10

In the Queue
The Lost City of Z by David Grann
Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Nicholas Taleb
