This Side of Paradise 7/10

After finding this in my parents attic and false starting on it a couple of years ago I finally began anew and finished F's first novel just recently. In case you were wondering, a rating of 7 out of 10 means; I'm glad I read it and if it strongly peaks your interest definitely pursue it. Being a kid who can't read good I thought the prose was memorable, the insights still rewarding, and the prep school/Princeton/young male angst subject matter intriguing. I could identify with the main character in many of the passages; these two especially.

"he suspected that being Irish was somewhat common-but Monsignor assured him that Ireland was a romantic lost cause and Irish people quite charming, and that it should by all means be one of his principle biases."

"Amory was on fire to be an habitue of roof-gardens"
